Studio & Video Production Manager / Sr. Custom Content Producer
It was David vs Goliath, a young scrappy team hell-bent on reaching that #1 sports media spot. I was one of the 4 original members on the video production team in San Francisco (SF) and New York (NY). The keys were handed over to me to manage the SF office within a few months of my hiring. I grew our studio to over 22 direct report employees, and spearheaded a “follow the sun” production model between our NY and SF studios to cover breaking news. In 2015, I improved our breaking news video process from a 4-hour turnaround time to under 24 minutes, exponentially grew viewership, and increased the national video team to over 100 employees by the time I exited.
We were a start-up within a start-up. Our efforts did not go unnoticed. Turner Broadcasting noticed the value we created and I helped navigate our team during this unusual yet, exciting acquisition experience.
Video Audience Growth
From the beginning of our BR Studio inception, we have grown exponentially YoY in video views.
The Ultimate Show
The Ultimate Show put Bleacher Report on the map as one of the first & truly dedicated show to UFC and MMA events. The Ultimate Show was hosted by UFC ring-girl and former host of Best of Pride Fighting Championships, Kenda Perez. This show was shot out of our San Francisco studio. While I was directing the show, we recieved a Webby nomination for Best New Sports Show (2014). The Ultimate Show was a blast to produce and direct and gained a lot of traction in 2013-2015.
Sizzles
If you’re in the space you know what this is. It isn’t always the best representation of the complexity and breadth of work that goes in to a project but it is intended to get you psyched about where we’ve been or where we’re going. Let’s pretend this was 2014/2015 in the world of sports.
